Day 7: La caccia di spazzino in Milano

Today was our first day that we worked with our groups (Group: Vita della Moda), and developed a team bond from the adventures and surprises that came our way.    Before our adventure began we were given a clue (which was a fact of a small piece of history), that each group was assigned to find and take a picture in front of it.  STAY TUNED TO SEE IF  WE MADE IT! :) . . . . .  .

We looked around for the clue at stops where our tour bus of Milan, "citysightseeing Milano"stopped.  The first stop where we visited as a class was the Sforza Castle Museum.  This was basically a museum inside of a castle, displaying everything that was found in the castle, including a picture gallery, egyptian museum,  museum of prehistory and proto-history,  decorative arts, musical instruments, furniture, photographic archive,  archaeological Numismatic Library, Trivulziana Library and city Historical Archive, art library, vinciana collection and CASVA - Centre for high studies in the visual arts.  Of these exhibits my group and I went to about 5.  Before entering the Castle, my first assumption was that it would be an actual castle where we would see displays of rooms and understand more about the people who lived there, but it was definitely very different and interesting to see the elaborate possessions that were found in the castle, as well as the amount that was there.
On the displays, there were several pianos, several rugs, ceramics etc.  As seen here:

This is the actual castle from the front view.

After the Sforza Castle, and some gelato we all met up and went to a fashion museum that displayed costumes from operas of various designers and decades.

        This Museum was called the
       "IL TEATRO ALLA MODA"

The costumes in this museum were so elaborate and displayed to perfect the costume as it would be if someone was wearing it.

Some of the designers that these costumes were designed by were:
     Armani - Capucci - Fendi - Ferretti - Gigli - Marras - Missoni - Ungaro - Valentino - Versace

Of the large selection of costumes, my favorite was an orange Georgette colored gown with intricate gold embroidery by Roberto Capucci (1991).   It is a gown that I personally would wear pictured below.

After the Museum, we went back on our scavenger hunt.  And that is where the adventures began. .

As we arrived to where we thought the clues lead us to, we realized . . . we had pictures of it this whole time and it was right next to the castle.  We just did not have a pictures with the group in it and it as our background, which was what was required to fully complete this task.     We took a picture the second we got there, because it was obvious that it was going to rain any second.  Well . . . . . .  we were right about the rain part, however none of us expected it to hail. And when I say hail, I mean as if pebbles were being thrown at us.  Of course this had to happen once we had hit the end of the road and our journey was finally over.   We thought we were walking to the bus and leaving the castle for good, but we were wrong.  We ended up being stuck there for quite a while.  However,  although it may have been a very very long day, it was very adventurous with an ending that woke our tired bodies up from this unexpected storm.  We took the positive out of something that could easily have been negative, and bonded as a group.   Needless to say I enjoyed the hail storm.  During this trip it is important to take the good out of everything, even if it means you are drenched in ice and rain, and wearing white pants (like I was) and freezing. .. . .  non era belol. Here is a video to relieve this experience.
